AST Achievement Awards

The AST sponsors a variety of Achievement Awards according to faculty rank in recognition of the AST member's achievements and contributions to the field of transplantation. AST members are encouraged to nominate deserving candidates for consideration.

The 2011 AST Achievement Awards submission site is now open. The deadline for award nominations is: MIDNIGHT EASTERN TIME ON FRIDAY NOVEMBER 12, 2010. To submit a nomination, please go to: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ast2011

Nominations will be considered in the following Achievement Award categories. Specific award details are available by clicking on each category below.

• Senior Achievement Award in Clinical Transplantation
• Mentoring Award
• Basic Science Established Investigator Award (Professor Level)
• Clinical Science Established Investigator Award (Professor Level)
• Basic Science Investigator Award (Associate Professor Level)
• Clinical Science Investigator Award (Associate Professor Level)
• Basic Science Career Development Award (Assistant Professor Level)
• Clinical Science Career Development Award (Assistant Professor Level)

Important Information:

1. All nominations for the AST Achievement Awards must be completed by: MIDNIGHT EASTERN TIME ON FRIDAY NOVEMBER 12, 2010. The nomination site will automatically close after the deadline. No nomination or supplementary documents will be accepted after the submission deadline.
2. Nominee and nominator for the AST Achievement Awards must be members of the AST. If the nominee/nominator are not members, he/she must submit a completed membership application by the submission deadline (with expectation that membership will be active before the award review occurs). Membership dues must be paid to date by January 1, 2011; otherwise, the nomination will not be considered.
3. To apply for membership in the AST, please complete an online membership application. Membership applications are reviewed by the AST Membership Committee on a quarterly basis. Applications must be submitted prior to the November 12th deadline.
4. Letters of recommendation with original/electronic signatures on institutional letterhead must be uploaded to the application site by the submission deadline. In addition, original letters of recommendation must be mailed to the AST National Office. These must be postmarked by the submission deadline and have an original signature on institutional letterhead.
5. Nominators/submitters will receive a confirmation email once the award nomination is complete.
6. Due to budgetary constraints, there is no funding available for the 2011 AST Achievement Awards.
7. Nominees and nominators will be notified of the outcome in March 2011. Recipients will receive their award at the AST Awards Ceremony during the 2011 American Transplant Congress, April 30 - May 4, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA.
